Srinagar, Aug 14 (KNO): With a vibrant display of patriotism ahead of Independence Day, a Tiranga rally was taken out on Thursday through the interiors of Sher-e-Khaas, downtown Srinagar, eyewitnesses said.
They said the rally, joined by security personnel and locals, aimed to spread a message of unity, peace and national integration in the backdrop of Article 370 abrogation.
As per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), participants carried the tricolour high as they marched through the narrow lanes, chanting patriotic slogans and expressing pride in the national flag.
Police officers from concerned police posts of downtown Srinagar and others participated and led the rally, ensuring smooth passage and engaging warmly with residents along the route.
“This rally is a symbol of harmony and togetherness. It reflects our shared responsibility to uphold the values of our Constitution,” said a police official, who took part in the march.
Another participant, a local waving the national flag, said that today they walked together to show that patriotism belongs to everyone, regardless of backgrounds. “This is about unity and our collective identity as Indians,” he said.
It is worth mentioning that the event was marked by a festive atmosphere, with residents watching and joining the march.
Notably, the march was also part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, an initiative under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, encouraging citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes to foster a deeper personal connection with the tricolour and instil a sense of pride and belonging among all Indians—(KNO)
